Mission Viejo, CA – April 9, 2025 — Authorities in Mission Viejo have launched a homicide investigation after a 21-year-old man was found dead from a stab wound Wednesday afternoon at an apartment complex in the quiet Orange County community.

Deputies from the Orange County Sheiff’s Department were called to the Mosaic Apartment Homes on the 27000 block of Camden Road just before 2:00 p.m. following reports of a stabbing. When they arrived, they discovered a young man lying on the ground with a severe abdominal wound.

Despite immediate lifesaving efforts from both deputies and paramedics with the Orange County Fire Authority, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to OCSD, evidence at the location quickly led investigators to identify a person of interest—a 17-year-old male—who was found nearby and taken into custody without incident. Authorities have confirmed that the juvenile is believed to be directly involved in the fatal stabbing. His identity has not been released due to his age.
