Hartlepool Stabbing: A 20-year-old man has been charged following a stabbing incident in Hartlepool that left another man seriously injured.
The suspect, who is from Fernwood Avenue, was arrested by police on the morning of Wednesday, November 6. Officers took him into custody shortly after the incident was reported. He was later questioned to the events that unfolded earlier that day.
Following the police interview, the man was formally charged with assault and possession of a knife in connection with the incident. He has since been remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 7.
The charges stem from a violent altercation that occurred around 8:55 a.m. on Kent Avenue in Hartlepool. During the incident, a 25-year-old man sustained a stab wound. Emergency services responded swiftly, and due to the seriousness of the injuries, an air ambulance was dispatched to the scene. The victim was transported to James Cook University Hospital, where he is being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Cleveland Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing and officers remain in the area to conduct further enquiries. They are also urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.
